Overview:
Take control of your cervical health from home with our reliable Home HPV Test for Women. Using a simple vaginal swab, this test checks for high-risk HPV types that may lead to cervical, vulval, or vaginal cancers.
Why Choose This Test?
HPV is often a silent infection, so early detection through screening is vital. This test is ideal if you:
-
Recently changed sexual partners
-
Want to identify high-risk HPV DNA subtypes
-
Prefer self-collection over a clinic visit
-
Wish to avoid a cervical smear
Self-collected samples are proven to be as accurate as doctor-collected ones, giving you confidence in results from the comfort of home.
What's Included:
You’ll receive a full kit with instructions and a prepaid envelope to return your sample to our UK lab. Please note: this is not an instant test.
Results:
Results are emailed within 10 working days*, complete with doctor’s interpretation.
*Indicative timings only—actual results may vary slightly.
Interpretation of results:
Negative: No high-risk HPV detected. Very low risk of cervical disease.
Positive: High-risk HPV present. Follow-up screening in 12 months advised. If still positive, then client should have a colposcopy procedure.
Background:
In 2017, the UK National Screening Committee recommended changing the primary screening test from cytology (looking at cervical cells through a microscope to find those which could develop into cancer) to testing for high-risk human papillomavirus (HPV). This is because:
- over 99% of cervical cancers are caused by HPV
- vaccinating children aged 12 and 13 for HPV strengthens the case for using HPV as the primary screening test
- it will save more lives by determining a woman’s risk of cancer earlier, which means the screening interval can be extended to 5 years
- if a woman is found not to have high risk HPV, her chances of developing cancer within 5 years are very small
